Role Summary

The lead software quality test engineer is part of a research and development team responsible for crafting and testing innovative softwares apart from testing industrial control applications primarily for the electrical transmission and distribution industry.

Should have strong experience executing quality test plans for intelligent electronic devices and minimum five year of experience participating in the definition and design of test plans.

• You will be a part of an agile/lean development team that develops software applications.
• You will coordinate Software V&V activities between Onboard Software teams, Functional Testing, Systems Engineering and any 3rd party teams, to ensure timelines and deliverables are completed on schedule and issues are resolved in a timely manner
• You will be familiarized with Electrical controllers and develop good understanding on their functionality.
• You will define test procedures and design test strategies (minimum set of tests to meet corporate quality standards and optimize tests resources)
• You will craft system test plans beyond simple functional verification to include performance, boundary and negative testing.
• Yow will build Test cases and setups including automated, manual and simulation procedures crafted to validate the quality and performance of the products in line with design and industry requirements.
• You will collaborate, contribute, estimate and advise upper management on software quality test and plans for projects, customers, budgets, resources, tools and technologies.
• You will seek frontline role in the handling of critical customer and business issues.
• You will lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
• You need to own and execute test cases for each requirement as part of an agile iteration schedule, identify and ensure requirements traceability to test cases and report defects detected during testing

What You Need To Make Real What Matters!

• You need to have Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering
• You need to have minimum 5 years of experience in software development and test, SCADA communications or system integration for control systems and minimum 10 years of consulting and/or relevant proven experience.
• You need to be familiar with electronic engineering fundamentals, Electrical protection, substation automation and SCADA applications.
• You need to have the ability to learn and apply test tools such as protocol Analyzer, software simulation applications, device configuration tools.
• You need to be able to work both as part of a team and independently utilizing agile execution tools
• You need to have hands on Experience with systems crafted based on Industrial communication protocols, technologies and standards such as DNP3, Modbus, IEC 60870, IEC 61850, IEEE 1588, Ethernet communications
• You need to have in-depth understanding of cyber security requirements and validation tools in substation automation applications.

This role is primarily based at Banaglore. However, you may get the opportunity to visit other locations within India as and when the work demands.
